Description:

The Blair Creek Section of the Ozark Trail covers about 26.5 miles. It was designed for foot traffic. Mountain bike and equestrian use is permitted on National Forest land, however only foot traffic is permitted beyond the National Forest boundary. Blair Creek Section crosses the Mark Twain National Forest, Pioneer Forest (a privately owned forest), and lands managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation. Be ready for lots of climbing, watch for the gray diamond trail markers, and be especially careful in steep areas where there are switchbacks.

The northern six miles follows a major ridge line that divides Big Creek and Blair Creek. It then leaves the ridge and enters the Blair Creek watershed. The trail follows Blair Creek southward as the creek carves a long, deeping valley in its descent to the Current River. Old home sites, springs, and reverting fields clad with wildflowers dot Blair Creek valley. The trail slowly makes it way to the bluffs high above the Current River and to the most outstanding views of the river along the entire trail.

Directions:

From Bunker, MO: Go south on Hwy 72 for 3 miles to Hwy P. A trailhead parking area is on the south side of Hwy P, just past the junction.
