Water Canyon Trail #31024

Follow this trail from the Pine Valley Cemetery to the open flats of Grass Valley . The trail take you through dense pinyon pine, juniper, and mahogany trees up onto a ridge that provides great views of the Pine Valley area to the south and Grass Valley to the north. The trail starts as a two-track road and narrows as it ascends into the forest. The trail is a moderate hike with loose rocks. The distance to Grass Valley is 1.5 miles. Once you reach Grass Valley you can either turn around or continue up the Water Canyon Trial in to the Pine Valley Wilderness. If you do choose to continue, please remember to practice Leave No Trace ethics and make sure you have a sufficient amount of water, as there is limited water in the area. This trail is open only to foot travel.
