About Earthgoers

Who are Earthgoers?

We are hikers, bikers, and campers.  We surf, ski, snorkel and scuba dive.  We paddle on oceans and lakes, and down rivers and streams.  We ascend peaks, descend canyons, and ramble over plains.  We observe and admire the flora and fauna on every excursion.  We do these things for recreation and meditation, to experience solitude or to enjoy the company of friends.  We go upon this Earth to deluge our senses and awaken our souls.

We are Earthgoers.

Earthgoers Activities

What is this site?

We at Earthgoers have two goals.  The first is to create the ultimate guide to the outdoors, created and updated by fellow outdoors enthusiasts.  We have already started on the Earthgoers Trail Guide which allows you to write descriptions, upload photos, and rate your routes.  We will soon add guides for other activities like climbing, skiing, diving, and paddling.

The second goal is to build a user-driven outdoors magazine.  Share your favorite outing, from short day hikes to week-long excursions, so that readers may perhaps repeat your adventure or at least live vicariously through you.  Share local, regional, and global environmental news, from mining interests threatening a nearby water system to policies affecting global climate change.

Both of these purposes are centered around the goal of saving our natural resources.  We outdoors enthusiasts are especially in tune with nature and realize how delicate the balance is.  By sharing with the world its wonders and beauty, we help the non-enthusiasts understand the need for conservation, and perhaps they may even join us on the next adventure.  Also, Earthgoers donates a portion of its profits towards conservation funds, so the more content you contribute, the more you help protect the natural resources you enjoy.

You can help by adding a trail or sharing your story now!

About the Banner Image

This month's background image (Sunrise at the Grand Canyon) was taken by Laurent Baig from Tucson, AZ. You can see more of his work on his site, The Wildlight.

Earthgoers has a photography contest each month. The winning photograph becomes the background image for our banner and the photographer earns a quick bio in this space.
